February! Time to get stuck in again…
I started the first version of ‘A New Look At Old Books’ in January 2009 with this very tome. Eight years on I fancy another round so here it is again, still cool ‘n’ collectable. Apparently Robert (Vermeire), the author, was an important figure in the important world of getting drunk. This copy is not the 1922 first edition, but with looks like this who cares? There’s a great deal more to book collecting than first editions. Condition is a vital ingredient and a dash of good old eye-appeal helps too. Talking of which, it’s Valentine’s day soon. Tomorrow I’ll be looking at the first of a series of books about love…
