Win Money For Collecting Books!

2025 Book Collecting Competition

Being paid for what you love doing sounds like a dream, but in this case it’s true. If you collect books, your collection could win you £250! The 2025 PBFA Book Collector of The Year Competition is now open, and there are two prizes.

The PBFA is Britain’s biggest organisation of professional book sellers. Established in 1974 to ‘bring books to the people’, we hold nearly 60 second-hand and antiquarian book fairs across the country. Last year was the PBFA’s 50th anniversary, so we celebrated by celebrating the UK’s book collectors with a £500 prize. The competition was so popular that this time we’re awarding TWO prizes of £250 each.

One will be for the Under 16s, and another for the 16s to 30s. You’ll find the entry form and all the details on our website, pbfa.org. The closing date is November 30th 2025.

I have always felt that young people should be encouraged to collect books, so I was happy to help when asked to organise this competition. I’m looking forward to seeing all the entries in December, but in the meantime please remember that we are looking for the most interesting book collections; not the biggest or most valuable. This means that everybody who loves books is in with a chance. Good luck!
